Here is an innovative idea for creating a stand for your iPhone (or similar sized handheld gadgets). You might get away with just 3 pencils and 2 rubber bands, but this configuration would give better support.

The DLP Pico Projector kit looks promising. It is a iPod sized projector that coupled with a similar sized BeagleBoard makes a great little Linux system. Low priced too - 500 USD for the system.
